Master Trademan cover Develops to Meet Needs of Growing SMEs

February 2008 - Intermediary only insurer, MMA Insurance plc (MMA), has announced wider cover and options to its Master Tradesman Plus small contractors liability product. These improvements are designed to give small and medium sized enterprises (SME) increased options to protect their business risks.

MMA now offers cover for up to 10 employees; previously cover was available up to 6. Optional Contractors All Risks cover has been added, including contract works and plant, along with the option to insure tools for up to £5,000.

These new features are available with full cycle functionality, exclusively to brokers via the company’s successful extranet, Broker Online, launched earlier in the year. This means brokers can obtain quotations and bind cover instantly and full policy documentation is available to download. Brokers can also renew cover, access policy details and make common adjustments without referral to MMA.

Commenting on the new features, Ian Page, Commercial Underwriting Manager said: “We have continued to respond to the evolving needs of SME and our intermediary partners by enhancing and improving this very popular product. We wanted to see Master Tradesman Plus play a wider role in helping small contractors grow. These new features will do just that.”

Page continued: “Wider cover and the effective use of Broker Online to distribute Master Tradesman Plus are also part of our drive to make it easier for intermediaries to do business with MMA.”

In January, MMA announced the launch of Master Tradesman Plus full cycle EDI and an additional security feature to Broker Online to provide even greater protection for brokers’ clients’ data.
