MMA Appoint Ian Josephs to Spearhead Development of Electronic Trading
October 2007 – Intermediary-only insurer, MMA Insurance plc (MMA) has announced the appointment of Ian Josephs as Electronic Distribution Manager to spearhead future development in its electronic trading capabilities.
Ian is responsible for building on the success of MMA’s existing electronic distribution facilities including the web-based Broker Online service, and the company’s relationship with its software house partners. He will be focused on improving MMA’s profile and ability to bring products to the market faster and more effectively via these distribution platforms.
Commenting on Ian’s appointment, Paul Hodgson, Head of Underwriting at MMA, said:

Ian joins MMA from Fortis where he was Electronic Business Manager. He oversaw the implementation of a number of Software House EDI, key intermediary and affinity developments. Prior to this, Ian also worked for Folgate Insurance, where he was responsible for building and testing electronic trading products.
Currently, 85% of commercial new business through products such as Property Owners and Motor Trade Road Risks is transacted via Broker Online. In May this year, MMA became the first insurer to offer full cycle EDI household schemes via Insurecom.
